We are happy to inform you that Dubai Shipping Agents Association (DSAA) has won the bid to organize FONASBA (Federation of National Association of Ship Brokers and Agents based in UK) Annual Meeting in Dubai to be held in October 2017.

I am also happy to inform you that H. H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, has kindly extended his patronage for our event.

Dubai Shipping Agents Association (DSAA) had put in its bid and has successfully been nominated to host the prestigious FONASBA ANNUAL MEETING to be held between 15TH to 18TH October 2017. As the region’s premier commercial and logistics hub, Dubai attracts significant volumes of sea and air cargo, import and transit and passenger traffic. Consequently, the role of Shipping Agents and brokers become increasingly important in this key area of commerce.

The Federation of National Associations of Ship Brokers & Agents (FONASBA) is a global organization of shipping agents and ship brokers. Founded in 1969, the organization promotes fair and equitable practices and ensures that the needs of their members are heard and understood at International, regional and individual national level, across the maritime industry. They have consultative status at the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and World Customs Organisation (WCO). They also closely work with BIMCO, Intercargo and Intertanko.

We expect over 100 international delegates, along with their partners to attend this meeting. We are organizing some local participation through presentations on topics of interest and/or importance to the shipping agents and the wider maritime community. We also are including port visits and other places of interest to the maritime sector. As you would agree, this is an excellent opportunity to allow the International delegates and partners to meet and exchange views with the local shipping community and for the local and regional maritime community to showcase its development and activities.

Outside of the local seminar, the regional and local shipping community is strongly encouraged to participate in the three plenary Committee meetings and are also welcome to attend the Council Meeting. This event will be an excellent opportunity for networking since we are expecting all international delegates coming from various countries. For more details on FONASBA, you may log on to
